Terex introduces himself to the PC’s. He claims to have known Binrock. The PC’s get their bearings, and try to decide what to do. however bucks the trend, and decides to take the portal back to whence they came. Dyneris follows, altruistically motivated out of fear for ’s wellbeing.
Terex then asks rhetorical questio: “Do you know what happens when you go through the wrong side of a one-way portal?” Stopping the rest of the adventurers from following.
Terex is suspicious of some of the PC’s, thinking they may be agents of Swan. He asks them prove their worth by freeing a druid who was locked in a cage. Jackal easily frees the druid, who introduces himself as…
The PC’s then explore the rest of the facility. They encounter a choker in an old library, dispatching the creature and discovering several scrolls. The ranger Coras Kennyghymn also finds some strange arrows. They spend 8 hours resting in the room.
The PC’s rest in the library before continuing to explore. In the corridor they meet again with Terex, who loses his temper, forcing Coras Kennyghymn to wrestle the shapechanger to the ground.
Terex reveals that the lottery binbou and Thorival attended was nothing more than a trap laid by Swan who is also the owner of the dungeon-like storage facility the PC’s are in. Swan murdered the rest of Aramil Tharivol Donodel and Binbou’s party but spared them, out of some mysterious respect to Binrock, binbou’s father.
Terex explains that he is a harper, and Swan is a former harper who betrayed the organisation, and kidnapped Lenora. Terex swore vengeance and was waiting to ambush Swan when the PC’s came through the portal.
Jackal and Coras Kennyghymn tell Terex that Lenora in fact hired them to rescue Thorival and Binbou. Terex seems deeply troubled by this, but resolves to wait for Swan anyway, hellbent on revenge as he is.
The PC’s then enter a room where Thorival and Binbou’s belongings are supposedly kept. They are almost killed by a combination of traps and an animated chest. Luckily, with his keen hearing Terex arrives to save them at the last possible moment. Choras, the last man standing, nurses the others back to health over the course of 10 hours. Within some chests the PC’s discover Binbou and Thorival’s possessions, as well as some gold which Terex takes as payment for his life-saving-services.
The PC’s argue over how to distribute their newfound booty. The argument gets especially heated over the subject of a magical feather. It gets rather physical, with Binbou wrestling the druid to the ground.
Whilst this is happening two of the PC’s, fed up with their comrades violent deliberations, soldier on ahead into the last remaning unexplored room. Disaster strikes.
Coras Kennyghymn walks into a room with an Illusory Floor and falls through. Jackal calls down to his fallen comrade, but to his dismay hears no response. It seems that Coras Kennyghymn was incapacitated by his fall.
The remaining PC’s rush to the rangers assistance. Jackal is lowered down by rope and heroically rescues Coras Kennyghymn from a Gelatinous Ooze. Afterwards the PC’s formulate a cunning plan. The wizard Aramil Tharivol Donodel is again lowered by rope, where he blasts the Ooze into a nothingess with continual Ray of Frost spells.
Working together the PC’s then find their way across the room- discovering that their is in fact one safe path through the illusory floor. On the other side the PC’s discover another door….where it leads only time will tell.
